If you’ve just returned from your holidays, we hope the prospect of getting back into it isn’t too daunting. Here are some five tips to help:
1.Activate.
You might not be Cathie Freeman but staying active and exercising daily stimulates your brain, boosts your sense of well being and improves energy levels. You’ll be back in top form in no time!
2. Organise.
It’s important to organise yourself with tasks and goals that are achievable in the short term. Break down the big tasks and attack the little ones. Apply your amazing self discipline and go for it with as much enthusiasm as you can muster. Keep a journal, task book, planner or lists (all of these can also be done digitally with some fantastic tools that are available through apps such as 'Trello', or 'Evernote').
3. Collaborate.
You might be the world’s greatest over-achiever, but the power of one is never as great as the power of many. Give yourself five minutes when you get to work each day to talk to your colleagues about themselves and about your shared projects. Carry in your heart a team philosophy and you will get better results.
4. Inspire yourself.
Read relevant content, talk about relevant topics, discuss what can be done and theorise what would be the best way to approach things. Write down your ideas in an organised and relevant way and you will find yourself inspired to get moving and empowered by your knowledge of what best to do next.
5. Relax.
We are humans, not machines. We all need down time to give us energy for up time. Take a walk, take a bath, take in a movie, read a book, listen to your favourite tracks, talk to your significant other, focus on simple creative tasks that you love, like cooking or playing music, get outdoors… breathe.
